Twilight

A movie review?! Hmmm. Maybe not. hahaha

Here's a month-end Lyndon Speaks.

Zarah, YJ, Dan, Cristianne and I watched Twilight last Wednesday. Yes! If you are thinking that we are excited about it, then you are correct. I guess that we are more excited on seeing each other than watching the movie. Or at least that's what I think. hahaha. We had great seats (that's because I had some reservations a week before the playdate). A lot of people went to Greenbelt on the first day of the movie (considering that it was a weekday). It just really means that Twilight is one of the most anticipated movies of the year! :D

I haven't read the book so I don't really know if the movie had met the expectations of the fans. But allow me to share with you my thoughts about the movie. Zarah told me that it was a "low-budget" movie. Yes it was! If you are into special effects, then you'll not be able to appreciate the movie unlike those that you have already seen. But if you are into the story of a movie, then Edward and Bella's love story will truly leave a mark in you!

I'll not make any further comments and reactions regarding the movie. All I can say is: watch it for yourselves! hahaha.

I'll buy and read the book and maybe I'll have a special book review blog post for that. hahaha.

I guess that wraps up November for Lyndon Speaks. See you next month!

Twilight on!

Hong Kong

My first visit to Hong Kong!

I'm back. Lyndon Speaks is once again online!

I was at Hong Kong last week. I went there for a vacation with Leah and NiƱa. We were there for three days (from Saturday 'til Monday). Shopping, going to different spots, and "chopstick-ing" - these summarize our stay at Hong Kong. Some of the places we visited were:

Admiralty - the place where we rode a bus going to Ocean Park
Ocean Park - a really great theme park; a lot of sea creatures amazed us
Temple Street Night Market - I hope I got the right place. hahaha. This was where we encountered the scary ate (lady).
The Avenue of Stars - where we met Jackie Chan and the rest of HK's finest stars (hahaha).
Jewelry Shop - GOLD GOLD GOLD and less alloys!
Floating Village - the boat ride was not that amazing (but the experience was okay)
Victoria's Peak - we really have not gotten to the peak, but the view was great
Causeway Bay - MALLS!
Disneyland Resort - it is really the happiest place on Earth!
Mong Kok - the Chinese version of our very own Divisoria! VERY CROWDED but a GREAT site for all shop-aholics out there!

I guess that, pretty much, covers our Hong Kong escapade. I know that our vacation was not enough to explore all of Hong Kong's beauty. But I guess that what really matters is the experience that we all had!

I'm sure that this will just be a start of my out-of-the-country adventures. hahaha.

Watch out for the month-end blog post! 'til tomorrow.

Hong Kong on!

A Taste of The New Bombay

Grab a bite of some Indian cuisine at The New Bombay.

Hi all! Here's a tasty round of Lyndon Speaks!

After reading my previous blog post, JP and Julius were surprised that Japes and I had dinner at The New Bombay. I thought that I have told them about that, but it seems that it had slipped out of my mind. And as expected, the two want their taste buds to experience something different, something that both Japes and I had tasted a few months ago.

But before that thought comes to reality, let me give JP and Julius a clip notes version of what to expect at The New Bombay. Hmmm. Do not think that I forgot you. Of course, this one is also for you!

The New Bombay offers authentic Indian cuisine. From the Indian version of the Filipino staple food - rice, up to the wide range of Indian viands (includes kebabs) - The New Bombay will surely satisfy your cravings for something different. The spicy zest added to each dish will definitely spell D-I-F-F-E-R-E-N-C-E in your eating experience. With just a little amount subtracted from your wallet, you can have India at the tip of your tongue. You can savor India's bests at Glorietta 4 Food Choices or feel the ambiance offered at Glorietta 3 (near Gloria Jean's and Hard Rock Cafe).

For an all new spice in your life, try The New Bombay and have a different meaning for the word "yummy"!

Japes and I will surely relive this Indian experience. And the next time that we do, we'll absolutely have it with JP and Julius. hahaha.

'til then!

Spice on!

This Is How We Bond

Movie nights?! Sleep-overs?! Long phone talks?! Nah! This is how we bond: FOOD-TRIP! Bonding moments with Japes, JP, and Julius.

Hi all! It's been awhile. Welcome back to Lyndon Speaks.

I guess that, by now, many of you have noticed that most of my bonding moments with Japes, JP, and Julius involved chatting and EATING. Yes! Eating! We have tried eating on different restaurants - from the ordinary ones like KFC and Mc Donalds up to the not-so-ordinary yet not-so-fascinating restaus like Hen Lin. The four of us also had plenty of talks over caffeinated drinks at Starbucks and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. We also had a taste of Philippines' very own chicken at Bacolod Chicken Inasal. We also had enjoyed Pizza Hut delivery at the comforts of our office chairs. "The Pizza Hut Bistro" and "Hot Shots" - Japes, JP, and I have tried those (too bad Julius wasn't there)! Japes and I also had experienced authentic Indian cuisine at the New Bombay. Recently, the four of us took a long walk from the office and ate doughnuts at Krispy Kreme. And just awhile ago, we all had some snacks (merienda) at Shakey's.

Whew! That was tough. I hope I remembered all of them. hahaha.

Food-trip has always been a part of our friendship. Sometimes we used those moments just to stay away from the stress and boredom at work. But most of the times, those "eating moments" were our bonding moments - Ultimate Bonding Experiences to be exact! hahahaha.

I guess that's all for now. Watch out this weekend for back-to-back posts featuring my Hong Kong Escapade and a movie-review on Twilight. Also, be on the lookout this Monday for the new site update of Lyndon Speaks. And as always, more experiences and thoughts to share with you next month.

So, 'til then!

Food-trip on!

My Peborit

Peborit - adjective. Liked or preferred above all others; regarded with special favor. (Favorite)

I'm feeling good that I'll be able to say this after almost a week: It is another round of Lyndon Speaks!

I haven't posted anything for the past few days for some reasons. One is that I'm very much pissed off with work. I'll not go on with the details. You could ask TJ or JP about it since I always share with them my sentiments - and I really mean sentimentS! hahaha. Another reason is that I was not in any mood for blogging. I think that it is still connected with the first reason. hahahaha. Anyway, all of those don't matter now because here I am, ready to share with you my latest experiences and thoughts!

Favorites! I think all of us have plenty of those. From favorite clothes up to favorite television shows, I guess that there is no one in this world who doesn't have any favorites of his own. May it be as little as it may seem, it can still be considered as a favorite if it is being preferred over others. Some may like the concept, some may not. But let me say that I believe that it is just normal to have some favorites. These favorites of ours add up colors in our lives. And that's a fact, whether you like it or not! hahahah.

During the past few days, "peborit" was the frequently used word in our (that includes Japes, JP, Julius, and me) chats. "Peborit", coined by JP and Julius, means Favorite. The two said that among the three of them (Japes, JP, and Julius), Japes is my favorite. hahaha. I postponed our lunch and merienda during the days that Japes couldn't make it. I always think of Japes before making decisions regarding where to eat. To summarize them all, I don't want us (JP, Julius and me) to go out and have some fun without Japes. hahaha. But there is really no "peborit". There is none because if either one of JP or Julius is not around, I still wouldn't prefer to go out and have some lunch or merienda with the remaining two. Hmmm. Or maybe that is not so true at all! hahahahha. Seriously, the three of them are all my "peborits" simply because they are true and great friends!!! (so cheesy! hahahah).

I guess that's it! I'll not be able to post some blogs over the weekends since I'll be out of the country. hahaha. So, 'til Monday!

Peborit on!

Greening the Mountain

A green way to end the week!

Lyndon Speaks is now online.

Lakeside-Manila had just concluded its Outreach '08. It was a tree-planting activity at Norzagaray, Bulacan. After a 2-hour ride from Makati to Bulacan, we had some orientation about the activity. After some reminders, we had a 15-minute boat-ride (Was it just 15 minutes? 'cause our boat was slower than those that the others rode on! hahaha). The hike came after all were unloaded from the boats. I wasn't able to know how long the hike was, yet let me assure you that it was tiring but a lot of fun! No time was wasted, just right after the hike, we were once again oriented on how to properly plant the seedlings. I guess it took us an hour to finish planting all 500 seedlings (I wasn't again paying attention on the time! hahaha). We had a little rest before we went down to have some lunch. On our way down, some accidents happened. I know that because I, too, had one! hahahaha. But my hurting butt was nothing compared with what Fredo had! Worse, I had to see what happened because I was just behind him and Archie when the accident happened. The activity ended with our late lunch and some cleaning up. We left the place at around 4PM (and now I'm sure of the time! hahaha). On our way home, everyone had to deal with the annoying bus driver. hahha. The bus driver had plenty of worries which included MMDA officers arresting him for illegal unloading and worries on where to park while we buy some snacks! Annoying as he was, we managed to do those things: from unloading some of us on different bus stops up until buying some snacks at Jollibee. After a 3-hour ride, we (at least some of us) arrived at Makati and went home.

I really had a great experience yesterday! I may not have fully understood what the DENR folk said during the orientation ('cause I wasn't listening.. hahaha), but I'm sure that what we did there was something great - great not only for us but most especially, it was for the best interests of our children's children!

I really had fun with everyone!!!

With all of these said, I guess that it's high-time for me to get some rest! I promise to share with you more happenings, experiences, and personal thoughts in the coming days! 'til next time!

Green on!

Bean and Leaf

"The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf" experience with Japes, JP, and Julius!

Hi all! You know the drill. It's time for Lyndon Speaks!

Yes! The four of us had our Friday bonding moment at Paseo Center's The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. It was Japes' idea to stay there and have some coffee and something to eat. We had our usual routine: eat, drink, make some asaran and kulitan moments, chats, and more catching ups! We also reminisced the not-so-good moment that we had. What is great is that after that storm, we still look back at it not to linger on the bad things that happened but to make fun of it, laugh at it, and share what we learned from it (are there any?! hahaha).

My Friday afternoon was a blast and it was definitely another memorable day with:
Japes - my peborit (favorite) (that was according to JP and Julius.. hahha);
Julius - the MIA (missing in action) every dinner/lunch/kainan (but he was never absent in our kainan moments these past days! hahaha); and
JP - the never mind (in Filipino: walang kwenta! hahaha! JOKE!!!)

I guess that would be all for this night's blog post! I need to pack my things for tomorrow's company event (LTI Outreach '08 - Tree Planting / Hiking). 'til next time!

Bean and Leaf on!

The 50th One

Would you believe it?! I have reached my 50th blog post!

Lyndon Speaks is now online!

I have been blogging for almost 4 months, and this night marks the 50th blog post of Lyndon Speaks. So what will I share with you in this remarkable post? Hmmm. I just have happened to know that almost all of my frequent blog readers are male. hahaha. I haven't thought that my personal blog will be a hit to the human male species! I also found out that most of my readers read my blog for stress relief. I have also known that most of these readers remember significant and funny blog posts that I have. They also remember some of my personal experiences - experiences that were very memorable to me - and sometimes they even share what they thought of about my experiences. My blog readers also share their own insights regarding some realizations that I write.

I believe that I have touched people's lives through my posts. I also believe that by sharing my own experiences, my readers get a chance to know me better. Most importantly, I know that I have already made a difference in my readers' lives - and I also know, that includes YOU!

I promise that there will be more blog posts to come. Maybe "50 times 50" times more! hahaha.. 'til next time!

Fifty on!

Fast Lunch

And I mean: really fast!

Hi there. It is time for another Lyndon Speaks!

I still do not know how the catching up, chats, asaran and kulitan, reminiscing the good times and the not-so-good ones, and eating were all packed and done on a very short period of time. Japes, JP, Julius and I had our lunch together awhile ago. And from the looks of this blog post's title, it was really just a Fast Lunch. A 30-minute lunch, fast as it may seem, but a lot had transpired. No time was wasted - from walking towards the place, standing on the queue, waiting for the food to be served, eating, up until walking back to the office (and may I add up the cellphone calls I made to Japes, hahaha) - the 30 minutes that we had were very well spent.

TIME - I guess that no matter how long or, in this case, how short it is doesn't really matter. What matters most is how you spend it! Who cares about time?? When you are with these special people you call FRIENDS, every second is like a lifetime! hahaha..

I guess that would be all, for now! 'til next time!

Time on!

All in the Grill

That's Gerry's Grill... Happy Birthday JP!

Hi all, and welcome back to Lyndon Speaks!

JP celebrated his birthday at Gerry's Grill. Of course, this lunch date was with Japes, Julius, and me. We had another chance to be with each other even though we have different hectic schedules (Are those hectic ones?! hahaha). Leah, NiƱa, Michael, and Tristan were also with us in celebrating JP's big day! Sumptuous meals were served, as well as... Hmmm. Okay, let me leave that one to your imaginations. hahahah

I guess that would be all. This has been another boring day at the office, another day with friends, another day to remember.

'til next time!

Grill on!

The Ultimate Gift

I wanted to share this inspiring movie with you on Christmas day. Hmmm. On second thought, we are, definitely, now having this year's Yuletide Season. So why the long wait??

Hi guys and welcome back to Lyndon Speaks!

I just finished watching the movie The Ultimate Gift. Jim Stovall's The Ultimate Gift is a story about Jason Stevens (played by my favorite actor, Drew Fuller), a guy whose life has no direction, and how he received the gifts that changed him as a person. Jason Stevens, the grandson of a wealthy man, is one of the heirs of a great fortune. But before he could have a hand on the inheritance his grandfather left him, he went through a series of tasks and tests. He succeeded on all the tasks and tests and got not only an immeasurable amount of wealth but he got what his grandfather really wanted him to have - life's greatest gifts.

After watching the movie, I realized that no amount of earthly gifts would equal those that life offers us - The gifts of work, money, giving, problems, friends, gratitude, family, learning, laughter, the gift of a day, the gift of dreams, and most importantly - the ultimate gift: the gift of LOVE! Learn to cherish these life's precious gifts. Dream on and Love on! Share them and, in your own little way, you can even change the world.

Similar to Jason in the story: I, another Jason, also thinks that I still do not know what my biggest dream is - but like him I believe that I can make others' dreams come true! Life is how you live it, not how you spend it!

Treasure these life's gifts! Grab a copy of the movie so that you would also be inspired! 'til next time!

Dream and Love on!

The Divi Escapade

A tiring but enjoying adventure at the cursed place - Divisoria!

Lyndon Speaks is now online!

Hi guys! As I opened blogger, I found out that I wasn't able to publish yesterday's blog post! So for those who were waiting for last night's post, I'm sorry! hahaha. It is now published and feel free to read it! And to those who are relying on my site's RSS for updates, my sincerest apologies to you as well. I'm still figuring out what seems to be the problem with the RSS. Anyway, these glitches will never stop me from writing my blog posts. hahaha.

We (Ecoy, Shelly, Justin, and me) just had one tiring day at Divisoria. We went there to buy some needed things (decors) for the company's upcoming Christmas Party. Our trip started at McDonald's Paseo Center. From there, Ecoy, Shelly, and I had a bus-ride going to Buendia, then a van-ride to Divisoria! The three of us had an early taste of the tiring day when we had to walk from somewhere in Divisoria (I don't know where that place is) going to Divisoria Mall. We walked because we couldn't stand the heat of the van, the traffic jam, and Ecoy had a business of his own to attend to (hahahha. I guess that I will not share that part! hahah). Justin joined us at Divisoria Mall and the four of us had our 5-hour adventure consisting of bumping experiences with people, walking around (and I mean AROUND) the place, laughing trips, making fun of people, looking for those d@mn3d inflatables (which we weren't able to find), buying the needed things, meeting an officemate (Lee) along the sidewalk of Divisoria, eating, and searching for the lost spaceship (hahahah! Ang bad mo talaga Ecoy! hahaha). After our escapade at Divisoria, we took Shelly to U.N. Avenue for a taxi-ride going to Ruth's place, Justin made his way home (I guess), and I had to go with Ecoy to the EDSA MRT Station (I went with him just to make sure that he would not get lost. hahaha). During the LRT-ride to EDSA, Ecoy and I had some chats which include the fact on how tiring our day was on the, according to him, sinumpang lugar (Divisoria). hahaha. The two of us parted ways at the MRT EDSA Station.

We really had a very (to the nth power) tiring day! Or at least, Ecoy, Shelly and I had a very tiring day. I think that Justin didn't get tired at all. Even though we were walking for hours, he was always the one in front of us and still walked really, really fast while Ecoy, Shelly, and I were left behind because we couldn't even carry ourselves! hahahah. Maybe, he was just prepared for this adventure. hahaha.

In any case, even if we were very tired from our adventure, it was paid off, in large uncountable amounts, by the fun memories we had with each other!

It's now time for me to get a well-deserved rest! 'til next time!

Escapade on!

Beautiful Mess

Is there such a thing?

Hello guys! Here's another round of Lyndon Speaks!

How can a downbeat word, such as "mess", be beautiful?? That was the same question I asked myself when I heard of the phrase. I thought that maybe some messes are not so messy after all. Hmmm. It made me think of the past - were there instances in my life that a certain mess turned out to be something that cleaned my life?? hahaha. Before I get so overly sentimental, let me just say that - YES! - I have plenty of those experiences. How could I forget the recent mess I had with my close friends at the office (see previous month's post - After the Storm). That was a big mess - a big mess which, by the way, made our friendship grow. A mess for some, it is a Beautiful Mess for me! Of course, I have lots of other beautiful messes in my life and I guess that it would take time to share all of them with you.

No matter how messy things may be for you, always think that somehow they will become beautiful messes which you will cherish for the rest of your life!

That's it! 'til next time!

Mess on!

More Than You, More Than Me

It is "US", it is "WE"!

Hi guys. Welcome to Lyndon Speaks. And I promise that this will be a very short blog post.

Now I realize that there is no more YOU and there is no more ME. All there is right now is US! And I hope that WE will stay like this for a long time!

And to keep my word: 'til next time! hahaha..

Us on!

A Little Planning, More Yearning

I was just saying in yesterday's blog post that there are still a lot of time for an U.B.E. part 3 with Japes, JP, and Julius. And guess what.. It was sooner than I expected! We just had one awhile ago!

Hi guys! Welcome to another round of Lyndon Speaks!

Our mini get-together started with a very unexpected YM conference invitation from Japes. That was the first time that Japes started a conference for the four of us. After some chats at the conference, we all decided to go to Starbucks. The same old kulitan and asaran, chats, a lot of laughters, plenty of catching up - these best explain the moments we had awhile ago. Of course, the time spent with each other tops the list!

What we had back then just proved that no amount of distance could hinder us from having some quality time with each other. It's just a matter of little planning and more of yearning - yearning to spend time with people you call FRIENDS! Or at least, that's what I believe. hahahaha.

I hope that I have, once again, inspired all of you! hahaha. 'til next time!

Yearn on!
~Lyndon Jason

A Little Different

Is it?

Hi guys, I'm back!

Be the judge if it's a little different in our row at the office.

Less kulitan and asaran.
Less laughs.
Much space between me and Julius.
Less chats.
Much different sight when I look over at my right.
No more annoying smiles (His smiles were not that annoying.. Okay, maybe sometimes. But most of the times they're not.. hahaha)
No more PSP games/battles after a day's work.

Now, is it just a little different?

Japes' transfer to the other project/building was a little surprising (Most especially for Julius! hahaha. Yes, Julius! JP and I knew it a day before the news came out. Hmmm. Didn't you know?? hahaha). I guess that it's all part of everything (And don't ask me what that everything is, for I don't know either. hahaha). I believe that Friendship is not measured by the distance between the people involved rather it is by how this distance is used to let the relationship flourish. WOW! Am I inspired or just in a mood for blogging?! hahaha.

Come to think of it, there's still a lot of time for an U.B.E. part 3! Isn't that right Japes, JP, and Julius?! hahaha.

I guess the sharings and the realizations for the day are enough to get me go to sleep! And I hope that they are enough to get you to sleep (as well) or to get your day started (to my early morning readers) or even to get you inspired (to those reading this at any time of the day). hahaha. All I want to say is: 'til next time! hahaha..

Friendship on!
