After the Storm

It's been awhile! Hi guys!

Backtrack -> an early Friday morning blog post, which was all about the bonding experiences that Japes, JP, Julius and I had last Thursday, was published.

After that post, events that transpired last Friday and yesterday, as well as realizations last weekend were never shared. It's not because that I have nothing to share, in contrary to that, I have plenty but I could not find the strength to share them with you. I was very stressed not with work but with what happened last Friday night.

I was not expecting those bad things that transpired last Friday. I haven't thought that after an ultimate bonding experience, the friendship that was only starting to get stronger will be quaked on its foundations in no less than a day. An event - the details of which I prefer that only Japes, Julius, JP and I would know - happened last Friday. It started out as a petty asaran and became a clash among Japes, Julius and me. Tension was built as Friday came to an end. I was not able to stop myself from raising my voice at Japes and Julius. Even the effort from JP to have Japes, Julius, and me on a single elevator was useless. Tension was still high until we parted ways. Saturday came, Julius had IMed me at YM just to say sorry, but I ignored it. I told myself that it was not yet the right time.

Yesterday was, according to JP, a deafening day. A deafening silence struck our row at our cubicle. No asaran, no kulitan, no loud laughs, NOTHING! I didn't talk to either Japes or Julius and neither did they. I even tried not to have a glimpse of them. The day ended without me uttering even a single word for the two of them.

Last morning, I started a conference for the regression team of our project (that includes Japes and JP). After giving them instructions, JP told us to stop the fight and talk to each other. He told us to say our apologies and patch things up among the three of us. With that little but very meaningful endeavor from JP (hmmm. That was the only instance that I can remember where JP had done a great thing for us. hahahah. Just joking!), I invited Julius into the conference and that was where the storm on our friendship ended. The laughters on our row started to come back and I hope, NO - I believe that in the coming days the rest of the things that add up colors to our stay at the office will find their way back to where JP, Julius, Japes, and I are sitting. One step at a time and all of those will definitely be back!

I know that what happened among us was an inevitable thing. All normal friendships experience that (TJ, thanks for that realization!). I just realized from that incident that these inevitable events might caught us off-gurad, they might come in the least of time that we expect them. We just have to be prepared.

Let me leave you with what I'll do now that this storm has come to an end: I'll not dwell on how these bad things transpired, rather, I'll remember how these bad things have ended, the reconciliations, how it made our friendship stronger, how it made us much closer, and where we are now after all that had happened. Wouldn't that be nice?!

I guess that's it! It's really nice to be back (literally and figuratively!) hahahah. 'til next time!

Learn on!
