Reasons and Choices

A 2008 Year-End Blog Post

Reasons...

A lot has transpired this year. A share of good and bad experiences shaped me to become the person ready to face the challenges the year 2009 has for me. If that is the only reason behind everything that happened to me for the past 365 days, I guess that would be enough baggage for the next 365.

Choices...

The year 2008 was full of both calm and great weathers. I have experienced a lot and am thankful that I was able to experience those. But during the rough times, one of the most abused excuses known to man never fail to come out: "I just have no choice". Hmmm.. Really?! Life is full of choices. We always have a choice - a choice on what to choose! A realization that I'll surely keep in mind this 2009.

Inevitably, we will be faced with new sets of experiences next year. Some may be better, some may be worse. We just have to believe that there is a reason for everything. Believe that there is always a choice - your choice that could definitely make or break you. And if it does break you, just make another choice - a choice not to lose hope!

Enjoy your 366th day of the year 2008, and welcome the first day of 2009 with a big blast!

'til next year!

Blast on!

Nourish the Kids

The best way to end the year and a great way to start a new one!

Another round of Lyndon Speaks!

A couple of weeks ago, Cheena had given me a great opportunity to share the blessings that I received for this year. By purchasing a Vitameal®, a food designed specifically for chronically malnourished children, I was able to feed a child and help him/her fight malnourishment and live a better life. And guess what?! It really felt good, and it, still, feels good!

With just a little amount, you could also do the same. Let your donation be counted on the number of meals shared every second (Visit their site and see what I'm talking about. hehehe). End your 2008 and start your 2009 with a noble act - the act of GIVING. Share your blessings and become a blessing to others.

Visit http://www.nourishthechildren.com and learn more on how you can make a difference. And let me leave you with Cheena's shoutout: "Lets help nourish the kids!"

'til tomorrow!

Nourish on!

Death Note

Will it be great to have one?!

I'm back! Welcome to another round of Lyndon Speaks.

Better late than later (hehehe). Death Note is an anime which became a hit here in the Philippines years ago (I was still in college when my friends became hooked to this), yet it was only until recently that I was able to watch it. After two days of watching the 37-episode series, I came to know why my friends liked it. Because I, too, liked, or should I say, loved it!

Hmmm. Is it really a bad thing to change the world? To get rid of all the evil in the world? To put justice on your own hands? I guess that there is nothing wrong in changing the world. There is nothing wrong in disposing all of the world's evil. In fact, most likely, people would agree to that. The only difference would be on how to accomplish these things, on what method to use. Some would still want the conventional way - let the right people do the job. But some, like Light, would like to put justice on their own hands - punish the evil, whatever it takes!

Do I need to share what I have to say on this?! On what method I would choose?! Maybe the answer would be no! You may be disappointed with what I have to say, disappointed with what method I would choose, disappointed of what kind of person I am. hahaha. Maybe I'll leave all of that to your imagination!

I guess that would be all for tonight! Death Note - a "must-see" this holiday season! 'til then!

Death Note on!

A Christmas U.B.E.

Friday's on a Tuesday!

Hi guys! It is so nice to be back. After two weeks of being away, here I am, again, welcoming all of you to another round of Lyndon Speaks!

A lot had happened over the past couple of weeks. After the 2008 LTI Christmas Party (which was the topic of my previous post), the team had two busy weeks of software testing. Those busy weeks were the reason why I hadn't posted anything. I felt tired and stressed over the past weeks making Friendster, Facebook, and Multiply the only sites I visited whenever I surf the net (of course, here at home! hehehe). There was also the LTI General Assembly for December where the much-awaited LTI Year-end Employee Awards were given. Let me take this opportunity to thank the Management of Lakeside for believing in my skills and for appreciating the contributions that I had given to the company. Thanks for the 2008 Most Reliable Team Member award!

To top all of the happenings, Japes, JP, Julius, and I had our dinner, our Christmas Dinner to be exact, awhile ago (or should I say yesterday) at T.G.I.Friday's in Glorietta. Spending a yuletide night with these exasperatingly funny (hmmm.. Exasperating is such a strong word. hahaha) people really put the icing over my December's cake. hahaha. We had a lot of chats, laughs, and sumptuous meals served on the table. Of course, light beers were present on our dinner.

Last night really topped the list of the numerous memorable U.B.E.s that Japes, Julius, JP and I had this year. Why not?! It was, first and foremost, a Christmas U.B.E. - an U.B.E. fit to end the year - an Ultimate Bonding Experience worth keeping!

I guess that would be all. I'm really glad to be back. I'm really happy to have shared with you the latest happenings in my life. I'll be back tomorrow for a very special blog post - the first Lyndon Speaks Christmas Post! So, 'til then! And here's what you're waiting for:

Christmas U.B.E. on!

A Party To Remember

Seth, Bong, and Jeh: Thanks a lot!!!

It has been a long time. Welcome back to Lyndon Speaks!

Superheroes and Super Villains united as Lakeside-Manila celebrated its 2008 Christmas Party last Friday at A.Venue Suites. That was my second Christmas Party at Lakeside and my first experience as event committee member. It was really a fun party because a lot were in their superhero / super villain costumes. Many struck their heroic and villainous poses as photographs were taken on the red carpet. Presentations from the different groups amazed everyone (most especially the thing that Archie did, hahaha). Band performances were also a blast. Of course, the much-awaited raffle put a smile on our faces and a frown on some of those who have received the ballpens, hahaha. The inevitable inuman session took place after the party. And after having countless tequila shots, the rest were history for me. I didn't remember anything that happened after I fell asleep at the venue. I just woke up the next day at Jeh's dorm. Jeh told me everything that happened: from how they carried me going to Seth's car up to how the three of them (Jeh, Seth, and Bong) used all their strengths in carrying me towards Jeh's room (4th floor of their dorm, hahaha). All of these made the recently concluded Christmas Party a party for me to remember. hahaha.

Jeh, Seth, and Bong: thanks again for all that you did, and I'm also really, really sorry for all the vomits I gave you. hahaha.

I guess that would be all for now! More exciting happenings, realizations, and thoughts on the following days. 'til next time!

Party on!
